Position Summary
Metron is a scientific consulting firm located in Northern Virginia with expertise in the areas of physical modeling, mathematics, operations research, and software development. We address challenging problems in the development of high technology systems for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications.
We are hiring exceptionally talented software engineers to develop both prototype and production level object oriented code. Metron software developers participate in a variety of software development activities including design, modeling, prototyping, coding, testing, and documentation. In addition, implementing mathematical models and algorithms in code is a big part of the job, so a very good mathematics background and aptitude is essential. Most of our technical staff has a graduate degree in math, computer science, or physics from a top school.
Projects are staffed by small teams responsible for delivering the best product possible to the customer and we expect and demand excellence of each other. The flexible working environment is collegial, challenging, and fun; compensation is competitive, and each of our technical staff has a private office.
Qualifications
Required:
•BS or MS in Computer Science, Operations Research, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics
•Significant programming experience in JAVA or C++
•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
•US Citizenship
Highly Desired:
•Excellent academic credentials
•Experience with software development best practices and tools across the full project life cycle.
•Active DOD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
•Mathematical algorithm development or implementation, simulation, or physical modeling experience.
