BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for designing and maintaining the overall look and feel of Oakley’s eCommerce catalog, shopping cart and associated pages.
Designs, implements and maintains effective user interfaces utilizing standards-compliant XHTML and CSS.
Works closely with Director of Web, eCommerce and technology teams to recommend layout and organization of eCommerce catalog content and functionality.
Develop site maps, information architecture, and interaction flows for eCommerce and branded content initiatives.
Lead the design process using wireframes and create design mockups as proof-of-concept prototypes.
Research, track and recommend new Web technologies and user interaction conventions.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Design degree (BFA/MFA) with formal training in typography, layout, user experience, wireframing, rapid prototyping and graphic design.
5+ years working in the web design field.
3+ years of professional experience in interaction and/or web application design.
Portfolio showcasing professional website design expertise with an emphasis on clean, sophisticated layouts, strong typography, meticulous eye for detail and contemporary style.
Solid understanding and expertise with XHTML, CSS, cross-browser/platform issues and associated modern browser compatibility issues.
Passion for end-user focused software applications design with a high awareness of current industry design and usability trends.
Knowledgeable in development tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility and the underlying page architecture.
Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Must be aware of online accessibility issues and have experience working to W3C accessibility guidelines.
Experience working with content management systems.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and flexibility to accommodate demanding schedules.
Educated in development methodologies and best practices.
Strong proponent of web standards and usability.

PLUS FACTORS:
Previous experience working for an interactive agency, design studio or advertising agency.
Experience with back-end development technologies (PHP, MySQL, AJAX, Ruby on Rails, Javascript).
Hand coding ability.
Experience with Mobile technologies, Macromedia Flash and Action Scripting.
Degree or background in Human Factors, Cognitive Science or related subjects.
