Location: New York City, NY
Administer Journalism Department web sites including framework, design, format, and content. Create conceptual framework, mapping, template art, and overall design. Modify existing pages to ensure integration of site design; recommend and implement changes to site structure and functionality.
Develop technical mapping for integrating new information onto web sites. Implement maintenance of sites, consistency of data, and adherence to department specifications and FAS, and the University’s guidelines, styles, standards, and policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Development of PHP/MySQL applications (both custom and open-source, i.e. Wordpress, Drupal)
- HTML/CSS expertise, basic Adobe Photoshop
- Excellent knowledge of Apache server, basic Linux fluency
- Solid communication skills / ability to communicate with students, faculty and staff
- Detail oriented and well organized
- A self-starter with good self-management skills
- Ability to monitor and analyze web site problems.
- Ability to monitor, analyze and report on server performance and use.
- Knowledge of a variety of current and emerging technologies.
Working knowledge of web programming language
(Perl/Mason, Python/Django, Ruby) .
Online audio/video knowledge.
