Network and Systems Administrator – Boston, MA
As a Veson Nautical Network and Systems Administrator you will support the development and deployment of new products by managing our Windows-based servers. You will deploy, tune, and maintain the performance of web, application, and database servers, network and storage devices, and troubleshoot problems with networks and web services. You will be responsible for assisting customers with installation of an enterprise level client/server application.

Responsibilities
•Deploy web and client/server applications in a high-availability production environment.
•Develop and maintain tools to automate the deployment and performance monitoring processes
•Document processes, procedures and performance specifications
•Pro-actively monitor systems and anticipate issues

Technology
•Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, IIS 6.0, and SQL Server 2005
•Veson Nautical products are built primarily with C++, C#, XHTML, AJAX, ASP.NET and CSS

Requirements:
•Education: Bachelors degree
•2-5 years experience in systems administration
•Broad knowledge of networking equipment, operating systems, and hardware
•Relational database knowledge (MS SQL Server)
•Familiarity with at least one scripting language, Python a plus
•Critical thinking and decision-making skills
•Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Desire to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
•Reliable with a proactive, positive approach to work
•Legal right to work in US
