National Geographic: Web User Interface (UI) Designer

(Washington, D.C.) National Geographics Digital Media department is seeking a Web User Interface Designer who will be responsible for the UI and IA of nationalgeographic.com and thegreenguide.com.

Key responsibilities include working with visual designers, producers and front-end developers to create site maps, wireframes, flow diagrams, user interfaces and templates; maintaining the sites style manual and design catalog; and writing functional specifications and documentation.

Bachelors degree in design or a related field and/or equivalent work experience; proficiency in web navigation and information architecture required.

Adobe Photoshop, Visio/OmniGraffle, Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint and XHTML/CSS; strong familiarity with interaction design principles as applied to Macromedia Flash, JavaScript and Ajax.
