Marine Biological Laboratory: Scientific Informatics Software Developer, Full Time, Exempt [EOL SD]

Location: Woods Hole, MA

The Marine Biological Laboratory seeks highly motivated applicants for full-time positions as software developers for the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) project (http://www.eol.org), a comprehensive, collaborative, ever-growing, and personalized ecosystem of websites that will make all key information about life on Earth accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Duties: The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of components of the informatics infrastructure, a modular, open-source and communal software environment. The work will include design and implementation of web applications, web services, data schemas and databases, and other applications and services. Development will be compliant with emerging Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG, http://www.tdwg.org/) and semantic web standards. Please refer to www.mbl.ed/jobs for a full description.
