Location: Madison, WI
Internet start-up in stealth mode is seeking a graphic designer to drive the creative leadership of the company. Management team has founded multiple successful startups, the most recent of which sold to Microsoft in 2007 (Jellyfish.com). Start up will launch as a high profile Internet consumer brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create visual designs and user interface design that address business, brand, market, and user requirements, including design and production of logos, screen layouts, color palettes, typography, and interface elements
• Collaborate with software engineers, marketing department, and management to define the user experience
• Understand and balance business needs, user requirements, technical considerations for the layout, and the organization & hierarchy of an e-commerce website
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess strong creative skills and thrive in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment. Specific requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years of GUI design for web applications and or standalone applications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Fireworks/Illustrator or equivalent tools for creating the user interface design deliverables
• Good understanding of current web technologies (X)HTML, JavaScript and CSS
• Strong typography skills and color theory
• Ability to consistently produce a high volume of quality work
• E-commerce experience a plus
• Passion for the customer
