Location: Madison, WI
Internet start-up in stealth mode is seeking talented software engineers to be a part of an extremely agile, fast-paced, and innovative team. Management team has founded multiple successful startups, the most recent of which sold to Microsoft in 2007 (Jellyfish.com). Start up will launch as a high profile Internet consumer brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and test application code that will comprise the core systems for the organization
• Collaborate with management and the creative director to define the end user experience
• Incorporate business and user requirements throughout the product conception, development, testing and release processes
• Develop prototypes to codify new ideas and to promote rapid, iterative development
• Capture and analyze usage data to drive the user experience and customer satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and thrive in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment. Specific requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years experience writing web-based applications
• Experience with UX design and theory
• Expertise in open source technologies including Java, Ruby, MySQL, and Linux
• Expertise in front-end web technologies including (X)HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and the DOM
• Ability to work on projects both independently and as a member of a team
• Passion for the customer
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• E-commerce experience a plus
• Design skills a plus
