JOB TITLE: Manager Server Solutions

BASIC PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
With the growing need for server-based solutions in Healthcare Enterprises, this position will play a key role in ViTAL’s roadmap as your team will be developing the core foundation for future product offerings. Your job will require excellent technical expertise and experience in building server components to ensure proper education and mentoring of the team members. Deliverables of the team will need to satisfy high expectations with respect to Quality, Uptime, Reliability, and Serviceability. Your team’s primary responsibilities are around centralized data management, receiving and sending medical data and information, managing the database, and providing services for consumption by connected client applications. An ideal candidate would bring strong leadership skills, domain expertise and experience, and be an excellent manager and mentor. In addition, you would be able to energize people and be a strong communicator with good analytical skills.
OVERALL OUTPUTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your team will initially consist of 8 people but is expected to grow to around 12 during the year. In addition to the primary duties of managing and mentoring your team professionally as well as technically, you will deliver a strategic plan by collaborating with the architecture function and other Engineering managers. Your team members will be contributing to different project teams and you will be working with the respective project managers to plan and schedule resource assignments for the given SCRUM teams. As some server components are being developed in our Beijing office, you will be required to travel overseas a few times a year to coordinate with the manager over there. You will be responsible for developing an annual budget and managing expenses appropriately. Your responsibilities will further include organizing as well as contributing to process improvement efforts while ensuring agility in our software development process using SCRUM. You will support ViTAL’s culture and value by encouraging empowerment, foster collaboration, and drive innovation. Last but not least, you will write Goals & Objectives for all team members and manage performance through regular reviews.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
8+ years of leadership and management experience, including strong people skills and mentoring experience.
5+ years experience in successfully building large scale server side software components.
3+ years experience in database development.
2+ years of experience with agile software development methodologies, preferably Scrum.
2+ years of experience with Microsoft C#, WCF, etc.
