Group Manager, Engineering Services
We are seeking an experienced hands-on Group Manager, Engineering Services with a passion for quality, can-do attitude, and technical acumen to lead and manage FunMobility’s quality assurance and porting efforts. FunMobility’s applications are available on practically every carrier in North America, on-deck, off-deck, and on the Web. Job Description:
In this role you will be responsible for leading the QA and Handset Intelligence and Porting groups. Additionally, you will also be responsible for managing the company-wide technical interactions with our offsite partners (US and International). You will be managing QA and Porting engineers in an exciting, and challenging environment, where tasks are schedule driven and goal oriented. You will have primary responsibility for managing offshore outsourced QA resources and projects. You will be required to work closely with development staff and other cross functional teams, for managing resources, gathering requirements, specifications to help develop, design, and execute test and porting plans and test cases for our mobile (BREW, J2ME, WAP) and Web based applications. All candidates must be able Identify and clearly communicate porting and testing strategies to team, review and report on test progress, status, and coverage, and meet test completion and delivery milestones that are defined. You will also identify, isolate, report and track bug defects in our bug tracking system and communicate and work with various certification labs for application submission to help launch our applications on national and international wireless carriers.
Job Requirements:
7+ years of mobile QA and/or porting experience with a thorough understanding of QA methodologies
4-5 years experience in a commercial software testing environment
3+ years demonstrated leadership/management experience required
A solid background in software testing techniques, methodologies, and networking is essential
Experience with BREW, J2xE, WAP, Social APIs, XML JavaScript, J2ME, Python or Perl and HTML
Experience testing wireless applications
Experience with application submissions to wireless carriers and NTSL highly desired
Experience leading projects and overseeing Junior QA Engineers
Experience working with and managing outsourcing relationships required
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Must Write correct and clear defect reports and enter them into the defect tracking system
Outstanding attention to detail required
Strong oral, written and presentation skills required
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases a plus
Strong experience in real-world operations of wireless technologies preferred
Must be results-oriented, with a keen eye for time-to-market considerations
Must have and demonstrate a Can Do attitude and be a team player
