Statement of the Job:
Participate in the planning and execution of all digital marketing initiatives within a small digital marketing unit in alignment with the organization’s mission and short and long term strategies. Effectively and accurately administer content and ensure timely functionality for LAPhil.com and HollywoodBowl.com, and for other digital media platforms as needed.
Essential Functions:
• Update, edit and review website content as needed by various departments, including but not limited to ticketing information (prices, seating sections, links to Ticketmaster, on- and off-sale availability etc.), donor lists, board members, volunteer committees, gala info, program information, Park ‘n Ride, ADA, education programs, job postings, etc.
• Ensure that website is accurate, up-to-date and functions properly
• Suggest and implement technical and experiential improvements to LA Phil’s digital offerings that make the site(s) more intuitive and user friendly while delivering appropriate content
• Provide technical support for e-mail communications
• Convert text documents to HTML for use online, including press releases, program notes, artist bios, composer profiles, house policies, and job descriptions
• Process graphics for use on websites, including hi-res press photos, artist photos, concert graphics, logos, maps and other web graphics as needed
• Convert video and audio content for use on websites
• Coordinate with web consulting and design firms as needed within the guidelines established by LAPA
• Coordinate with web hosting provider and IT department
• Process graphics for use on Hollywood Bowl electronic marquee
• Other duties as required
Requirements:
• B.A. or equivalent experience
• Extensive experience with website programming, including the ability to code in HTML
• Ability to organize large amounts of content in an intuitive and responsive way
• High awareness of new technologies, digital trends and innovations
• Ability to program and design in multiple languages and on different platforms(Apple OS/Windows), as necessary by project
• Familiarity with MS Access or similar database program
• Web graphics and design skills, including knowledge of Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and related programs
• Familiarity with various FTP programs
• Fluency with standard computer programs is a must
• Strong proof-reading skills and attention to detail
• Good communications skills
• Ability to take direction and grasp concepts & techniques quickly
• Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines in high volume, fast paced environment
• Ability to cooperate and work well with a wide range of personalities
