We’re looking for a talented server and network administrator that can help us handle our datacenter systems as they are today as well as build out our infrastructure for the future. We are a small and profitable company (not a shoestring startup) that is growing at a healthy pace and looking to grow our server environment intelligently.
This role revolves around our datacenter environment (not end-user desktop support) which powers custom applications that we provide to corporate customers.
You will not find here an alphabet soup of specific technology acronyms as requirements. More importantly, the right candidate will have a solid understanding of the underlying concepts and the intuition and mindset that is necessary to successfully run a reliable server environment.
Relevant skills and attributes of position:
- Understanding of Windows and Linux servers
- Understanding of networking concepts
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Coordinating datacenter installations, cross connects, etc
- Building event collection and monitoring processes
- Flexibility to perform off-hours datacenter work (although physical datacenter visits are rare)
- Friendly, vibrant work environment
