The Yahoo! Ad Exchange team is looking for a highly qualified lead/senior software engineer who is up to the challenge of designing and developing the next generation web-based applications. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing applications based on business requirements and will join a highly talented team of engineers, product managers, quality assurance engineers, designers and customer support professionals.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record for delivering high quality products on time that meet or exceed the product requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for development of Right Media Exchange solutions using some mix of PHP, DHTML, Java and C++. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn about Yahoo’s incredible technologies and how to apply this knowledge to build the next generation web technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for owning major components of a large, critical, enterprise application.
• Critical thinking in solving complex problems on tight deadlines.
• Provide experience leading all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Provide Project Management experience (budget/work planning, risk analysis, etc.)
• Provide programming expertise in optimization techniques and architecture design.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to other developers and help them to grow.
• Build a strong and effective development group. Hire other great people.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Computer Science, related degree, or strong comparable experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development or management experience.
• Proven track record for delivering high quality products on time that meet or exceed the product requirements.
• Energetic engineering contributor with leadership experience on analysis and design.
• Demonstrated project management and resource planning experience.
• Technical expertise should include PHP5, MySQL, Javascript and CSS.
• Solid understanding of OO programming concepts or design patterns.
• Serious professional experience developing large, complex systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional character.
Desired Qualifications:
• High degree of comfort in a unix/linux command-line environment.
• Postgres, C/C++, Java, C#/.NET, Oracle/Informix/MS SQL Server.
• Management or team lead experience. Mentoring and hiring to build a first-class team.
• Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Python, Bash, ksh, csh, ruby.
• Experience with optimization techniques, algorithms and architecture.
• Experience with high-volume, rapid transaction processing systems is desired.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, UDP, load balancers.
• Configuration experience with apache, php, tomcat, jboss.
