One stripped down Movable Type blog has since grown into a network of eight rich sites which draw millions of unique visits each month, and growing. We’re an upstart company facing a Big Opportunity, and we’re looking for one talented engineer to join the team as our tech lead.
This is not simply about writing Perl scripts for a blog. This is about building a new media company from the LAMP stack up. It’s about mashups with social networks, and databases of user-generated video. Just beneath the surface, are real, applied engineering challenges. The growth potential, technical and financial, for the right person are non-trivial. Apartment Therapy is a pre-funding start-up with significant investor interest, and the ideal candidate will evolve into our long term CTO. No background too unusual, but proven web coding chops and general like-ability essential. We expect the right candidate to be living in or near New York City, with programming experience in:
-Perl
-PHP
-MySQL
-Unix/Linux/Apache
Background:
-4+ years software development experience
-Good interpersonal and communication skills
-Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, or computer engineering
Pluses:
- Hands-on experience with Movable Type
- Experience in media industry, and integrating with third party ad server technologies
