Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director, Information Products, this position oversees product development, management, and maintenance for the Baker Library Web site and other products as they are developed in support of Baker Library Services and Baker Library Historical Collections. Responsible for setting, managing, and maintaining the editorial voice of the Baker site. Develop, manage and maintain an editorial calendar, content lifecycle review program, and analytics program. Lead the cross-organizational Baker Web Team to define the vision, mission, content, features and functionality needed for the Baker site. Identify and transform print content into Web products and fulfill Web maintenance requests by KLS staff. Manage proofreading and QA. Work with the Web & Intranet Services team within KLS to develop information architecture and design for new Web products. Plan and implement transition to the Vignette Web production platform. Define the functional and aesthetic requirements for Web products, capturing the behavior of each product (i.e. services, tasks and functions the product needs to perform) and its look-and-feel. Serve as in-house expert on electronic publishing content and technology.
Required Education, Experience and Skills Basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. 5+ years work experience in Web publishing product management. Additional requirements: Editing skills (copy editing a plus), excellent project management skills, customer relations liaison skills, communication skills, and attention to detail. Fascination with the Web and web technologies and how users consumer information in electronic environments, and experience with layout, design and Web software. Willingness to accept and meet new responsibilities as the position evolves is essential.
