Based in Boston, Untravel Media Inc. is developing a new online mashup application that lets anyone create geo-coded full-media tours for web and mobile phones playback. The company has developed several mobile media projects in Boston with high profile clients including the New England Aquarium and the City of Cambridge.
The job entails a mix of design and development on our flagship product, the Mobile Narrative System. Environment is primarily open-source software with lots of PCs and some Macs. Position reports to CTO.
Duties & Responsibilities
o Design activities (team & solo)
… Either develop software in Actionscript 3 with Adobe Flex and other frameworks
… Or develop server-side Java code for Red5 server
o Other special projects as assigned by CTO.
o Commitment: 10 hours per week to full-time as mutually agreeable
Skills Desired
o Prior OOP development (any Java or Actionscript a real plus)
o Prior experience developing web applications
o Prior commercial programming experience a plus, particularly in distributed team development
