Jelical is a startup company that will author software for the Financial and Telecommunications industries in Australia. The owner of the company previously set up such a company in Europe and is now replicating this in Taiwan. Employment will start with a 2 month pilot program in Taiwan that will run during August and September 2008. For the pilot the Java Team Leader will be required to author a small project and deliver in September. Currently Jelical has 2 experienced Project Managers who will take part in designing the products and will work with the Java Team Leader to achieve successful outcomes. For the pilot program the 2 Project Managers will be working with the Java Team Leader remotely, and then in October 2008 the Java Team Leader and 2 Project Managers will commence building the team and working on larger projects in a new office in Taiwan. This office will be in either Taoyuan or Taipei depending on what is more convenient for the employees.

* 5+ years Java programming in web-based business applications
* experience with short development/test/deployment cycles (1-4 weeks)

* a working understanding of J2EE patterns
* experience in estimating development from requirements
* regular experience in leading 5+ developers
* recent production experience in one of these (or similar):
- Spring Framework
- EJB 3
- JBoss Seam
- Apache Open For Business
- JZeno
* recent production experience with any of the major MVC implementations
Other highly desirable experience:
* test-driven development (junit, httpunit, selenium ..)
* working in an extreme programming environment
* working in some other agile development environment
* automated build and deployment (ant/maven ..)
* continuous integration (cruise control ..)
* ajax implementation using a popular toolkit
