New Motion, Inc. is a fast-growing mobile content distributor looking for talented professionals. We are seeking a Java Developer to join our Mobile Content Distribution team to focus on developing content ingestion, web services and management tools. The candidate must be proficient in all phases of the mobile software development lifecycle and must be an innovative problem solver who is dedicated to producing high quality applications.
Ideal candidates will be responsible for:
• Development of Hibernate 3.2/Java applications for use in our backend platform
• Apply good design and testing techniques to deliver high quality application
• Unit testing and bug fixing to create production quality applications
• Development of internal applications and tools for monitoring and reporting
• Create design documentation and assist in schedule planning
• Develop within a WAP environment and/or session
• Comprehend and write content delivery queries/reports
Job Requirements:
• Experience with Hibernate 3.2, Java, JSP, and related technologies
• Experience with SQL/PL-SQL, JDBC on Oracle or comparable experience
• Working knowledge of SOAP, HTTP, and XML experience
• History of completing, shipping, and maintaining at least two enterprise Java applications
• Working knowledge of Tomcat, Apache, JBoss and other web server operation
• Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix development environment
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns
• Ability to discover what users need and design, document, and implement appropriately
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a past paced environment
• Ability to integrate well as part of a team and work independently when needed
• Selected candidate must be able to provide proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in CS or related field
• Prior experience in the Mobile Industry
• Experience developing Hibernate, Ant, and/or Java platforms
• Experiencing with version control systems such as Subversion or CVS
• Experience transcoding content and delivering to mobile devices
