IT Support Engineer at Tideway Systems (London, United Kingdom)

Tideway is seeking a smart, enthusiastic professional to run all aspects of IT. The right candidate will be an experienced IT professional capable of overseeing and upgrading a complex set of systems. Key Responsibilities

* Provide operational support to all departments, supporting the IT needs of Tideway’s users. This includes desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, software, provisioning and retiring systems, antivirus, backup etc *Maintain and operate all back-end IT systems, including LANS, WANS, firewalls, email systems, storage networks, phone systems, disaster recovery, backups, passwords, security monitoring
*Manage the server room, including rack planning, cable management, security, power and AC
*Act as a focal point for all IT related issues managing the IT infrastructure proactively and delighting customers with excellent and professional service. This will occasionally require long hours or out of hours work at the weekend or in the evenings.
*Deal with 3rd party suppliers of equipment and services; manage 3rd party contractors and outsourcers where necessary, managing and reporting on SLAs
*Identify opportunities for outsourcing and cost savings in IT, driving outsourcing projects to completion and managing outsourced relationships effectively and professionally
*Assist in planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to any part of the IT infrastructure. Key contributor to the IT CCB
*Transparent and diligent prioritization and status reporting to both customers and management

Key Skills and Knowledge

*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
*Extensive experience in managing and deploying Windows server and desktop operating systems, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Blackberry services
*Experience in configuring and maintaining a complex, secure, multi-site network infrastructure using a variety of equipment, primarily from Cisco
*Experience managing physical infrastructure in a data center or server room
*Wide range of knowledge about IT related technologies, methodologies and tools
