INSTRUMENT SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Participate in the design and implementation of software for a biotechnology instrument. The instrument will have diverse functions including, but not limited to, high-speed data acquisition, mechanical and thermal control, fluidics, and simple robotics.
Specific tasks include building tools for configuration and calibration, including but not limited to tasks such as alignment, image processing, automation, and diagnostics.
Position Requirements:
Experience with Linux desired. Experience with real-time software, multithreading, signal processing, distributed/parallel computation and device drivers a plus.
Fluency in high-level (Java, C++, C#) languages required. Experience with dynamic languages (Perl, Python, Ruby, Lua) desired.
Exposure to any of the following disciplines is helpful: physical sciences, mechanical engineering, biochemistry, bioinformatics, optics, electronics, error budgeting, probability, user interface design, DBMS/LIMS.
Candidate should have demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment. Candidate should be a self-starter and capable of taking the initiative to drive the design and implementation.
