Join a growing team of Web professionals working to effectively communicate online with a wide range of internal and external audiences. In addition to the University’s core institutional Web sites, our Web team works to create and improve sites and e-newsletters for dozens of University schools, departments, centers, administrative units, and initiatives.
The information architect is a new and unique position at the university. The architect will be the teamâs IA expert and guru. Working with approximately 15 full time staff and a select group of vendors, the architect will identify and implement effective site structures and organize large amounts of content across many sites, disciplines and programs. The architect will develop a wide range of solutions aimed at improving user experience, increasing efficiency of content management, and facilitating publishing content across the many facets of the University Web presence.
Job requires a bachelor’s degree and three years experience structuring online content for complex multi-faceted Web sites. Our primary OS is Mac OS X, but we also regularly use Windows. Candidates should be skilled with Creative Suite, OmniGraffle or Vizio, site mapping, wireframing, content management, and analytics. Experience with usability studies is a great plus.
Our projects vary greatly in size, scope, style, and subject matter. The architect will have the opportunity to implement a wide variety of solutions, and to grow, learn, and develop as the Web evolves.
