We are seeking to hire a freelance information architect to assist with a large scale web development project. The website is a large consumer oriented website with extensive customization capabilities provided to the user.
Responsibilities include:
- In conjunction with other team members, design and document core functionality, interface design and user experience based on business requirements.
- Develop functional specifications for each primary section.
- Design wireframes, flowcharts, sitemaps, application behavior and user experience to conform to company’s business and brand goals.
- Occasional face-to-face meetings required. Travel not included.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in information architecture for large, high traffic websites with complex data models.
- Solid portfolio of IA deliverables (including site maps, functional specifications, wireframes, competitive reviews, personas, and user scenarios)
- Strong track record of being part of successful, deadline driven teams with references that agree with claims.
- Extensive knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Visio and/or Illustrator.
- Must have excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work with design and programming / development teams to make ideas into actual product.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with current technology trends and capabilities, including AJAX, CSS and Flash.
