Information Architect at Daylife in New York, New York

Our product lets readers, publishers, reporters, and developers create and engage with news in new ways, taking advantage of the variety, community, and transparency enabled by the Internet. Daylife is looking for a top notch Information Architect who will enjoy working with other proactive, self-starting, collaborative, world-class professionals who will thrive in the demanding, fluid atmosphere of a start up focused on shipping the next great thing.

The ideal candidate for this position is a knowledgeable Information Architect who will work closely with our UI Design and Development team to refine our site and overall web application architecture.

Responsibilities
*Collaborate with Director of Design and development team to create a highly intuitive, easy-to-use, scalable, experiential site
*Compile User research
*Champion user-centered design
*Lead the creation of consistent information hierarchies for site navigation on both a site-wide level and by topic levels
*Improve page performance. Strong ability to learn from web analytics and user testing, to optimize pages
*Produce user-interaction flows, site maps, wireframes and functional specification documentation

Requirements
*Minimum of 8 years experience in information design and strategy for consumer-oriented websites
*Ability to organize large bodies of information
*Possess excellent user research skills along with excellent usability instincts based on real-world data and experience
*Must have strong overall messaging skills
