Junior Web Developer
(xHTML/CSS, PHP, Javascript)
A growing online party-planning social network is seeking an Assistant Web Developer to help build and scale the next generation of our website.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a clear passion for developing high quality, standards-based code. Must work well with others, have an attention to detail and love solving problems.
REQUIREMENTS
2+ years experience with standards-based web development utilizing
- HTML – standards compliant, of course
- CSS – if you rely on tables for layouts, look elsewhere
- PHP – Experience with (or a good understanding of) PHP is required (Our framework is in PHP, though most of the Assistant Developer’s role will be involving XHTML/CSS)
- Javascript (prototype, jquery)- working knowledge is required
- Must be able to take a png/psd page template and create a standards compliant, clean html/css/php page without batting an eye
RECOMMENDED
- Ideally applicant will have working knowledge of image editing applications such as fireworks or photoshop.
- Solid knowledge and experience building web sites using PHP, MySQL & Apache.
- Experience with structured code libraries, MVC frameworks and open source projects such as CakePHP, Subversion and Eclipse. (If no experience in this area, candidate will gain priceless experience in this position)
LOCATION:
- Remote.
COMPENSATION
- Hourly Rate to be negotiated based on experience & skill level.
DURATION
Three month (180 hour) contract. Candidate must be available for roughly 15 hours each week, roughly 60 hours per month, 180 hours over the duration of the three month contract.
Potential to develop into a FT salaried position with benefits.
