DESCRIPTION
Hive7 is looking for a multi-talented designer who can both design and implement the user interface for the web games that we build. As a core member of the design team, you will be contributing in the initial brainstorming, ideation, and prototyping process for all our game projects, but your main responsibility will be in building out the UI designs into solid cross-browser compatible XHTML/CSS/AJAX markup code. We’re looking for someone who has incredible attention to visual detail, but also cares about how the UI works and feels and has a good intuition on web usability. Hive7’s first hit game on facebook is called Knighthood.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop solid product-ready web user interfaces using XHTML/CSS/AJAX.
- Create detailed visual designs from initial product and ui concepts.
- Analyze, design, and architect successful user experiences.
- Communicate and collaborate with our development team.
- Communicate with and champion our users.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1-3 years experience designing and implementing user interfaces for popular websites.
- Excellent and demonstrable web UI design skills, including screen layouts, information design, and typography.
- Expertise in XHTML, CSS, javascript/AJAX.
- Up to date on all web standards and best practices on developing for web browser cross-compatibility
- Expertise in photoshop, illustrator. Bonus if expert in other web design tools, like visio, dreamweaver, omnigraffle, etc…
- Expertise in Flash and actionscripting is a huge consideration, but optional
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and self-manage to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Passionate in creating and constantly iterating web games with our users.
