We are hiring a Front End Web Developer to work with our development team on the new site production, and on-going maintenance of our growing network of online media sites.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and passionate about upholding the highest design standards and user experience, with a keen sense of design to compliment their technical expertise.The environment is fast-paced with numerous user-centered, iterative design and development cycles. You’ll be responsible for building everything from network-wide sites to creating one-off projects (microsites, landing pages, and templates) to deployment-quality code. Responsibilities
• Build web sites using XHTML/CSS and validating using W3C standards
• Ensure high quality consistent look and feel across multiple platforms (Windows, OS X) and browsers (IE6/IE7, Firefox, Safari)
• Design web page and content using Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software packages
• Provide timelines, estimates, and status for design project milestones
• Participate in collaborative visual design and project planning sessions
• Work both independently and collaboratively with team members and demonstrate leadership, innovation, and accountability for assigned responsibilities
• Content management/daily website updates
• Adhere to web development best practices and ongoing changes in the interactive development space
Requirements/Experience
• 5+ years experience working as a front end developer and web production artist on well-designed consumer-facing websites Working for an in-house development team, or Interactive agency a plus
• Web 2.0 knowledge and experience
• HTML/XHTML (Hand Code) – Expert
• CSS (Hand Code) – Expert
• PhotoShop (Graphic Optimization, Slicing) – Expert
• JS (Hand Code) – Intermediate
