The area: Online Operations
The Online Sales and Operations team keeps Google growing and profitable. We are dedicated to supporting the company’s growing base of advertisers, publishers and users in more than 40 languages on a global basis, and providing them with the highest levels of service. We are responsible for generating revenue from a broad range of products such as AdWords, AdSense, Gmail and Google Earth. This means that OSO team members need to be proactive, motivated, organized, responsible – and able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The role: Search Quality Evaluator
Google is recruiting enthusiastic, web-savvy individuals for search quality evaluation. We have an immediate need for team players with an ability to work cooperatively and proactively with a wide range of team members. You will use your excellent web research, computer application, and analytical skills to help us improve quality of Google’s search results. Candidates should have a proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity, and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
* Reviewing assigned sites for quality and content.
* Troubleshooting website issues and identifying areas of concern and interest.
* Investigating web sites, some will include pornography and explicit language.
* Working on special projects, as needed.
Requirements:
* BA/BS degree (Computer Science preferred).
* 1-3 years related experience in an Internet company and with web research a plus.
* Basic HTML experience.
* Familiarity with typical web practices such as managing a domain name.
* Familiarity with internet infrastructure such as WHOIS info and the Domain Name Server (DNS) system of domains, understanding of Firewalls, IP addresses, and name servers.
* Previous experience with a computer programming language a plus.
* Ability to complete large volume of work quickly.
