Fundraiser/Project Coordinator (1725 DeSales St. NW., Washington, DC)

Scientists and Engineers for America (SEA) is searching for an energetic Fundraiser/Project Coordinator, with an interest in science and health policy issues, to support the development of our projects. The candidate should have a background and job experience in fundraising– in writing grant applications to foundations, cultivating donor relations, or marketing to grassroots members. Duties involved in fundraising could include: researching possible sources of funding, writing and editing grant applications and fundraising materials, writing and tracking grant reports, and organizing small fundraisers. The position may also entail some project coordinator duties, which include managing a variety of SEA’s programming, including our website, the SHARP Network. This includes working with SEA staff, contract employees, and other participants to ensure the timely development and implementation of SEA’s programs. This work allows for creativity, but also requires significant attention to detail and follow-up. The candidate may also provide general support to SEA’s Executive Director and Board of Advisers in this small office. This job entails a significant amount of writing, so proven ability to write clearly and concisely is required.

SEA fills a critical gap in science and engineering policy by drawing direct connections between science policy issues and elections. Our focus is on both increasing the political activism of scientists and engineers and ensuring that critical science and health policy issues are made a focal point of political debate.
