Job: Front-end Web Engineer

We are looking for a highly-talented and innovative Front-end Web Engineer who can deliver cross-browser compatible designs and implementations for our client-facing Ratings and Reviews Service and our consumer-facing Buzzillions.com website. This position involves much more than just moving pixels around - it’s about robustly integrating innovative designs with cutting-edge technologies. You will be on a small team of front-end engineers who will be supporting our entire platform, so your opportunity to make an impact will be significant.

The ideal candidate will be able to take visual mock-ups and deliver optimized implementations using a variety of technologies including CSS, HTML, Javascript, JSPs, and front-end Java API’s. This position requires expertise with cross-browser development practices and browser degradation strategies. Additionally you should have experience with software design principles, OO concepts, and UI design and development practices.

You will have the opportunity to work with world-class, enterprise clients and impact designs on their existing websites, as well as develop innovative interfaces for our Buzzillions.com Portal. Your designs will engage millions of customers across many well-known brands, including REI, ToysRUs, Staples, Trek, Drugstore.com, Walgreens, Consumer Reports, and many more.

Responsibilities

* Use CSS, HTML, Javascript, JSPs and Java API’s to implement innovative front-end web features and designs
* Develop and maintain performance-optimized, cross-platform markup in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
* Help establish and maintain front-end web development best practices and standards
* Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts and to enable
rapid iterative support for evaluative research
* Implement A/B and multi-variate tests

Requirements:

* 2+ years experience in launching successful interactive web
sites/applications as a key member of a user experience team
* Strong command of DHTML, including Javascript, AJAX, CSS, and DOM based development
* Experience with cross-browser compatibility and browser degradation strategies
* Experience with web page optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed)
* Experience developing with JSPs and Java APIs
* Experience with A/B and multi-variate testing
* Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
