We’re a Seattle web startup with a crazy ambitious idea. You’ll be the 6th member of our team and one of the last to join before launch. If you’re looking for a high-risk, high-reward situation with lots of impact, this is a rare opportunity.
You’ll play a crucial role in building something that you, your friends and family members will all use. Our vision encompasses email, media sharing, and social networking (we did say it was ambitious), so you won’t run out of challenges.
As a developer on our team, you should be eager to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes. If you have the attitude that no job is beneath you and that you’re also capable of just about anything, and you love it when people tell you something’s impossible, you’re a good fit.
General Qualifications:
- Smart, driven to get things done.
- Experience with high performance web sites (Comet with Jetty)
- Excitement to be an early employee; knowing the hard work and fun that goes along with it.
- Ability to work across all layers of the application from user needs to back-end systems design.
Technical Qualifications:
- love writing and solving development challenges with Ruby, JavaScript and Java
- understand the nuances of a single-page Ajax application
- Ruby on Rails development (or Django willing to use RoR)
- you understand the internals of what JQuery, Prototype, YUI etc. are doing
- you could rewrite much of those libraries, but would rather build new user functionality using those libraries.
- deep knowledge and experience with at least one web development platform (and the willingness to use an entirely different one)
Great software developers who can learn new technologies quickly and write great code are welcome to apply regardless of specific technology background.
