We are recruiting a successful Product Designer to establish GeoCommons as the standard for creating informative maps that drive decisions on the internet. If you have experience in taking a new web based product to market or a successful history with products in the Geospatial world we want you to join us. The Product Designer will work with senior staff and the development team to build project requirement definitions, business rules and develop mock-ups. As a hand’s on position this creative individual will have wide responsibilities including: project planning and implementation, technical design, workflows and development for both our web based interface designs as well as our corporate website. He or she will be innovative and own the user experience as well as be FortiusOne’s webmaster.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement product designs.
- Interface with end customer to develop user requirements.
- Build and develop use cases based on user requirements.
- Work directly with engineers to develop product requirements and workflows.
- Work with Marketing to build the FortiusOne/GeoCommons brand.
- Create graphics and styles used within web pages.
- Own the core designs for product lines and corporate websites.
- Create mock-ups, wireframes and design schematics.
- Conceive and execute UI’s
- Documentation
- Other Duties as Assigned
Experience/Technical Skill Requirements:
- Storyboarding/Workflow design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Experience and a proven record of success in product design and user interface design.
- Experience and a proven record of success in building out Customer Requirements, PRDs, MRDs.
- Internet programming proficiency including: (D)HTML, Javascript, AJAX, DOM, Flash, CSS or similar.
- Design software proficiency including: Adobe; Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, InDesign or other comparable design software.
- Ruby and C programming a plus.
- Software and/or Web Development background a plus.
- Proven communication, presentation and leadership skills.
