Position Summary: We are looking to invite an innovative Data Visualization Flash/ActionScript 3.0 Developer to join the FortiusOne development team. We are working on map based technology pushing the limits of visualization for large data sets. This position will require a background in Flash and ActionScript 3. Experience in mapping, geospatial systems, Ruby on Rails, data visualization and analytics, very large data sets, and/or numerical / scientific computing is highly desirable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, code and maintain Flash/ActionScript 3 Development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Technical Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- 3+ years experience and a proven record of success in developing graphical and data intensive visualization software in a web development environment.
- Requires experience with:
- Visualization development experience (Flash CS3 Suite, ActionScript, etc.)
- Adobe Flex
- Hands-on software development experience
- Remoting
- Open Source software and projects
- REST
- Desirable:
- A familiarity with mapping, geospatial solutions, web application interfaces and customer interactive software.
- Agile product development methodologies w/rapid product iterations
- Scientific visualization
- Ruby on Rails
- Visualization experience including Modest Maps, Flex, scientific/numerical computing and visualization, gaming experience or similar.
- Technologies:
- Flash
- ActionScript 3.0
- Adobe Flex
- Internet programming proficiency including: (D)HTML, Javascript, AJAX, DOM, CSS or similar is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to work across multiple products and projects while prioritizing and managing time and resources effectively
