Job Summary:
This is a software development position in the Network Appliance File Systems engineering team; as a Sr. Software Engineer, you will participate in all phases of a product development cycle: from product definition and design, through implementation, debugging, testing, and release.
Essential Functions:
This job is all about developing NetApp’s crown jewel, the WAFL filesystem. You will participate in all phases of software development, including specification, design, implementation, testing, and sustaining. Additionally, you will interact with and influence other engineering groups, customer support, marketing, and sales in support of that work. As this is a team, you will work collaboratively with many other engineers, and may be asked to take on any engineering task that contributes to the company’s success
Qualifications:
Requirements:
• Design and implementation experience with UNIX or UNIX-like OS kernels is essential to this role.
• Hands-on development of kernel software subsystems like file systems, scheduler, networking stack protocols, and/or virtual memory.
• Solid understanding of the C language and a proficiency in algorithm design is essential.
