Fantasy Baseball Rails Developer at Benchcoach (New York City, NY)

Fantasy Baseball startup looking for Rails kick-ass front-end developer to take over ownership of the rails front end to a new analytical engine. Looking for a motivated individual who can work independently to help us launch the site by the beginning of March. Must have strong HTML/CSS and AJAX/Javascript abilities. While baseball expertise isn’t required, the goal is to raise the bar of sport statistics and analytics so familiarity with Sabermetics and a strong statistical background are a plus. (Ideally you are in a fantasy league right now.) This position would also be good for someone who is interesting in distributed data mining and processing, using EC2 and S3, web-scraping and automation, skynet or Hadoop, and especially data visualization. This initial contract will be through March but hopefully we’d be able to continue the relationship through the season. Requirements: 1) Able to work in USA. 2) Rails 2 3) Willingness to write functional and integration tests.
