We are looking to add another C++ developer to our team.
About us:
We are passionate about good software design and construction. We know and appreciate all kinds of different languages, but we believe that just like mathematics is the queen of the sciences, C++ is the queen of the programming languages. Although self-praise is no recommendation, you may be interested to know that our team includes people whose names are well-known in the C++ community. For example, the team lead of one of our two desktop products is a member of the C++ Standard Committee. So if you wanted to know what the latest is on concepts or rvalue references, you would be as close the source as you can get. We also have a former contributing editor of the C/C++ Users Journal on our team. We have contributed to the Boost library, both by contributing code and by performing functions such as release management.
And, oh, we also have a wildly successful high-end financial analytics software of which we regularly ship new versions with added functionality to our clients.
What we are looking for:
You have a broad range of knowledge and expertise in software engineering, but your true passion is C++. You are very familiar and experienced not only with the C++ language, but also with Boost and perhaps with Qt as well. You understand and appreciate the complexities of C++, but you also know that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. You love to argue passionately about software design and implementation issues, but your main interest is not to win the debate at all cost. You are confident enough in your knowledge and experience to see the value in other people’s point of view. You are an expert with a beginner’s mind.
And one more thing: as much as you strive to uphold the highest standards of software engineering, you are also keenly aware that the purpose of your work is to keep putting great software in the hands of your users. In short, you understand that real software engineers ship.
