The Sr. HTML Developer will work closely with Creative and Engineer groups to develop, debug and update XHTML mocks and CSS files.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop optimized/cross-platform Front-End code in CSS/XHTML, JavaScript, and AJAX.
- Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and application engineers to refine and improve the user experience.
- Partner with peers in application engineering to ensure that interactive techniques and technologies translate through to world class products and services.
- Connect with the user interface development community to track latest trends and emerging technologies.
Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years of strong command of web standards, CSS-driven/tableless HTML layouts, DHTML (JavaScript 1.0-1.5, CSS1 & CSS2, DOM Levels 0-2) cross-browser compatibility & browser degradation strategies, (i.e. knowledge & understanding of kerning and when to use tables or when to use CSS is required).
- Ability to take Photoshop mockups and create high performance web pages that meet the design and technical specifications following accepted best practices for minimizing client and network footprint.
- Familiar with optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed), cross-browser/platform issues, and tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility, and the underlying page (i.e. JSP/PHP/CMS) architecture
- Understanding of AJAX frameworks and the difference between XML and JSON
- Basic proficiency in source code management practices and familiarity with version control tools such as Perforce and Subversion.
- Basic proficiency in UNIX/Linux.
- Knowledge of micro-formats and what they can be used for.
- Understanding of unobtrusive Javascript techniques.
