PURPOSE: Lead developer for interactive web based software for online consumer websites, new media projects, and supporting applications/tools.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead developer for interactive web-based software applications in an agile, dynamic environment.
• Code web applications running a jsp/jboss/apache platform in a Linux environment.
• Participate in code walkthroughs as needed to ensure software quality and performance
• Deliver software on time and to specification, with minimal supervision
• Evaluate new technologies/frameworks to enhance and extend the current technology stack.
• Test and debug code using automated and manual test processes
• Analyze functional and technical project requirements with product owners and project managers
• Mentor junior development staff
• Help coordinate code releases with other development teams and resources.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Three to Seven years hands-on experience programming web and new media applications, preferably for high traffic consumer web sites.
• Two or more years experience Java development.
• Proficient with Java, EJB, and JSP technologies and frameworks/tools (ant, hibernate, CVS/SVN, etc)
• Experience working with/deploying to Jboss and Tomcat application servers running in a Linux /Unix environment.
• Experience in a collaborative, team-driven software engineering environment. Participation in full development life-cycle
• Team player with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
