What’s it’s all about:
You have a burning passion for all things design and a penchant for great wine. You get to create what’s often "the first impression" for many of our loyal fans. Expansive and ever-growing, our website is a fantastic resource for consumers and distributors alike. Not only are you an ace web designer, but you’ve got an interest in designing presentations, working with film and video, brainstorming new marketing concepts and you’re just gung-ho about creating things that work well. You are a forward thinking creative type and love communicating and working with your team. You also pay great attention to quality and detail. Being in charge of creating and maintaining a wonderful interactive and dynamic website (www.donandsons.com) really gets you excited.

A typical day:
After waking up early, you sit down at your Mac and you’re energized for a productive day. You start your morning with some education by reading the latest entries to a few design related blogs, catch up on the news, and sort through your emails. You discover a few great new ideas, delve into some quick tutorials and learn how they might integrate into the website. Shortly after, a brief morning team huddle takes place, and you’re ready to get to work. You’ll do a quick QA test on the website and check out the latest web stats. A new wine is about to launch and you’re responsible for gathering the beauty shot, bottle shots, labels, tasting notes, podcasts and putting them online for the world to see. A request comes in for a PowerPoint presentation from the Sales force, you gather your thoughts, meet with the marketing team and decide upon a direction. In the afternoon, and a long lunch, you’re ready to get back into the zone. You help the designers come up with the latest designs for a wine shipper and decide upon a direction for the new series of neckers. By the end of the day you’ll have helped design and send an internal email campaign to the sales force with coverage of that last week’s press. You’ll head home at 5 o’clock, but are welcome to stay a bit longer and continue working.

Who you work with the most:
Most of your day-to-day work is with the design and marketing teams, though you’ll work with others, including winemakers, finance, programmers, designers, printers, photographers and sales people. You’ll coordinate efforts to continually improve everything.
