DDC is currently seeking a Director of Application Development to be responsible for managing an on-shore and an off-shore team of developers tasked with developing and enhancing our main product lines. This position reports directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities:
The Director will provide leadership, management, mentoring, performance evaluation and hands on support for our Web-based application development activities. In addition the Director will have the following responsibilities:
• Provide project management and design strategies for efficient and high quality software development;
• Work efficiently and effectively with internal partners;
• Ensure that tasks are completed on time and according to the planned resource utilization;
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures as they pertain to web development;
• Lead the design and development of a state of the art product line;
• Recommend tools to enhance product development efficiency and performance.
Requirements:
• Strong project management experience including managing a number of parallel software development projects;
• 8+ years of progressive experience in managing software development, including 5 years of managing 10+ developers;
• Demonstrated experience of coordinating teams and effectively delegating tasks;
• Extensive hands-on experience in Web site development using Microsoft technologies and the .NET framework, relational databases, and stored procedures;
• Strong SDLC experience, best practices for design, development and unit testing;
• Experience delivering products through the ASP model;
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• A graduate degree and past experience working with offshore are a plus.
