Job description:
This person will be responsible for the creation of manual test plans and automated scripts, for the resolution and escalation of bugs and issues that result from the testing process, and for assisting software releases into the production environment.
Handle requests directly from clients and implement simple html and image manipulation fixes and record complicated issues in the bug tracking system.
Work closely with Application Development during the scope, development, and testing phases to ensure quality and timely delivery is achieved.
Conduct software compatibility tests with browsers, programs, and operating systems.
Ready to fight IE6 issues fearlessly.
Identify, isolate, document, and report problems with program function, software defects, and deviance from standards using a bug tracking system.
Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes. Retest bug fixes made by development.
Apply quality assurance standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
Log and track software defects and communicate priority/severity of defects to other team members.
Test both internal, 3rd party applications and system changes
Requirements:
Strong personal skills: must have ability to work in supporting capacity within a team under changing priorities on a daily basis.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience testing and documenting system applications
Technically competent in web software and applications, esp IE6, and other major browsers and their impact on development and testing efforts
Must be a Team Player with a strong work ethic.
Must possess organizational, time management, and motivational skills.
Experience and understanding of HTML and JavaScript
Experience with Firebug, Firefox developer toolbar and Selenium is recommended.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred
