Job Title: UI / Visual Design Manager
Position Overview
This is an exciting role for an experienced UI / Visual Design Manager to define and own the new way in which Monster’s products and services are presented globally to end users. We’re looking for a visionary to raise our creative standards to new heights and help us redefine how consumers will use the internet to search for jobs and candidates, connect, network and manage their careers.
You will work in conjunction with Seeker and Employer UX Directors and the UX Research Manager to design new products and overhaul existing ones in accordance with new Monster’s brand guidelines while maximizing the user experience.
This position reports to the Director of User Experience and is based in Maynard, MA.
Functions and Responsibilities:
• Implement and oversee a consistent creative strategy based on Monster new brand guidelines.
• Lead and direct the creative team from concept to completion.
• Create, maintain and communicate Monster’s UI guidelines and library of design patterns.
• Translate conceptual ideas into engaging visual presentations and design solutions.
• Conceptualize and create brand-consistent, easy-to-use, attractive and meaningful user interfaces (and other design deliverables: layouts/UIs, widgets, patterns, color palettes, typography, wireframes, workflows, iconography and user interface elements) for use on the web.
• Provide design expertise to the organization and serve as the internal champion for the user experience.
• Attract, recruit and retain creative talent to grow the creative capability.
Requirements:
5+ years experience in comparable web design roles for strong online brands.
• Bachelor’s degree required in design-related discipline: Interaction, Graphic or Interface design.
• Experience designing compelling user interfaces on large-scale consumer sites.
• Extensive design experience with graphic design, including knowledge of iconography, typography, and color theory.
• Thorough understanding of overall web site design, including basic usability, industry standards, architecture and navigation.
• Experience with accessibility, internationalization issues and universal design.
• Proficient to expert in: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Fireworks.
• Advanced HTML skills including XHTML and CSS.
• Knowledge of cross-platform browser compatibility restrictions and requirements.
• Ability to effectively influence multiple teams to drive internal consensus and common goals.
• Self-motivated, independent worker with entrepreneurial passion and ability to effectively multi-task.
• Proven creative problem solving and innovative mindset.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
