The Flash Developer’s primary job will be to provide flash programming and functionality for a wide variety of real estate-related Flash sites, intranets, extranets and Flash-based Applications. The Flash Developer is also responsible for staying current with new and evolving technologies and is challenged on a daily basis to solve logical and functional problems in new and unconventional ways while adding new concepts, methodologies and experience to their toolset. It is also essential to be a strong communicator who works well as a part of a team and independently when required. Familiarity with browser capabilities, cross-platform testing and web optimization are important for this position.
The Flash Developer designs and constructs Flash pages/sites including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques. This position maintains and provides ongoing design and development of Flash websites, interactive banners, and flash assets such as interactive maps and tools.
The Flash Developer works as a member of the Interactive team.
Reports to the New Media/Technology Manager.
Duties:
- Develops prototypes, visual interfaces and interaction of Flash-based applications
- Implements the user interface design. Works with the Interactive Art Director to develop online user experiences; bringing things to life in innovative, creative ways via Actionscript.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Stays abreast on industry techniques and new technologies
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of tasks
- Strong creative input and ability to evolve plan to Flash
- Responsible for maintaining and developing integrated Flash sites
Knowledge or familiarity with the following programming concepts is required:
- Expert-level knowledge of HTML Programming
- Expert-level knowledge of Actionscript and Macromedia Flash
- Advance knowledge of XML
- Advanced knowledge of Photoshop
- Knowledge of Illustrator
- Knowledge of InDesign
- Windows & Linux (Both our development and production servers run Linux)
- Working knowledge of CSS and Javascript
