Under the direction of the VP, Product Management, you will be responsible for developing the aesthetic of the Daylife site, as well as designing, prototyping, and building features and services for the Daylife Publishing Platform. It’s important that you not only have exceptional design skills, but that you also have excellent front-end development talents.
In addition to site design, you will also have the opportunity to be involved with the design and conceptualization of websites, themes, and site-creation tools for publishers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product & Technology Team to create new features and pages.
- Create compelling and engaging design that will be leveraged across all facets of the business.
- Produce wireframe, use case, and work flow documentation.
- Provide front-end development support as needed for prototyping as well as feature development.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years experience designing consumer-focused websites.
- Strong background and/or interest in web publishing , social media, journalism, and the online news business.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; including CS3 Layer Effects, Smart Objects and Layer Comps.
- Cross-browser, cross-platform knowledge of semantic, standards-compliant CSS and XHTML.
- Experience with usability concepts, user testing and complicated work flow design helpful.
- BS or BA required, preferable in human-computer interaction or a related field.
- Strong communication skills are a must.
