Community Manager, Consumer products, is responsible for fostering, developing, interacting, and growing Opera’s worldwide community base. This role is central to all of Opera’s outreach activities, and relies heavily on someone who is passionate about stimulating an intelligent, passionate, and vibrant international community.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Inspire even more enthusiasm and activism with the Opera community. Coordinate with Product Management, Developer Relations, PR, and Marketing to ensure a high level of community input and integration into all of Opera’s product development and outreach. Work with the My Opera editorial team, create and publish community content coordinate promotions with the other teams within Opera.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
- Development and distribution of outreach materials including a weekly blog. Initiate, plan, and execute annual Community Summit with community leaders from all over the world.
- Monitor and report traffic and activity levels for ChooseOpera.
- Develop plans for Community involvement in product launch and marketing plans and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure positive results.
- Develop community messaging to ensure effective communication with target audiences including features and benefits, and unique value points.
- Develop and implement product plan for re-launch of ChooseOpera (www.myopera.com/chooseopera) – Opera’s community activism home

Requirements:
- English required, multiple languages are highly encouraged
- Must be able to travel 25% of the time
- Proven ability to champion and influence cross-functional teams in different locations without formal authority
- Good understanding of web technologies and mobile web
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Knowledge of open Web Standards
- A familiarity with internet technologies with basic HTML and graphical skills
- Demonstrated success building great communities
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Community or Marketing Manager
