The Software Engineer will be required to work within a small high caliber team to help engineer cutting-edge web applications. The job requires adopting agile development methodologies, and the use of web technology such as Ruby on Rails, AJAX, and CSS on a multi-tenant SaaS platform using.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Designing and developing new functionality for the Clear Standards application platform
• Ownership of code through full life-cycle of design, development, testing, and maintenance
• Working with product management and sales to design product features that meet customer and market requirements
• Identifying and solving performance bottlenecks in the user interface and/or application logic
• Following agile development methodologies for continuous feature prioritization and rapid release cycles
• Evaluating and learning new technologies
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• 3-8 years of object oriented programming and web development experience
• Strong development background with proven track record
• Experience with web front-end design (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
• Solid understanding of MVC development framework
• Ruby on Rails experience a plus
• Good analytical and communication skills
• Highly motivated and eager to learn quickly
• Well organized, and can adapt within a fast-pace organization
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willing and able to put in the commitment that a startup requires
• Ability to work both independently as well as within a team environment
• Must come with strong development background and references
• Preferred Location- Northern Virginia / Washington, DC Metro Area
