Will work with the Library of Congress (Washington DC) staff to translate requirements into high quality, high profile web designs. Web designs will adhere to sustainable, maintainable and efficient coding styles that incorporate industry best practices and usability standards, CSS, and Section 508 compliant coding and will be scrutinized for their adherence, as well as to usability standards and overall user experience.
Knowledge of current and leading edge practices and currency in the web design community is essential. Requires bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience. Telecommuting is not available.

The successful candidate excels in:
• Working with CSS implementing table-less layouts, XHTML 1.0 Strict, and familiarity with CSS Zen Garden.
• Demonstrating samples of table-less web page production.
• Implementing CSS work inside of an MVC framework.
• Making and using AJAX and similar web 2.0 methodologies.
• Working in a development team with people having a variety of front and back end skill sets and competencies.
• Solid understanding of W3C and Accessibility guidelines.
• Work with different UI materials and rapid prototyping in a process-oriented approach
• Excellent oral and written communications skills-can present and share complex ideas and concepts effectively and is able to extract requirements from internal customers.
