We are looking for a Business Analyst who can monitor and report on key metrics of the business based on data from our Web application. We’re looking for someone who can design new systems as required, build tools and analyze data. Must be able to automate the data extraction and presentation. You will use optimized data to determine recommendations to increase growth, usage and revenue while minimizing cost.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data and identifying significant trends in usage of the product
- Analyze results of A/B testing and provide recommendations on key variables to focus on for further testing
- Perform ad-hoc queries as required
- Work with the product team to instrument product for efficient gathering of required data
- Design systems that get the right data while minimizing impact on product development resources and product performance
- Automate generation of daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Create internal Web-based dashboard to allow product team to drill down into data for everyday decision making
- Set up alerts to detect sudden changes in usage patterns
- Crisply and concisely present and communicate key results to rest of team
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in computer science, math, statistics or engineering-related field preferred
- 2+ years of SQL and data analysis experience
- Highly skilled writing effective SQL queries and database indexing
- Scripting skills (Perl, Python); ideal candidate can program in Java
- Knowledge of existing data warehousing tools and best practices
- Understand experimental designs for multi-variable scenarios including fractional-factorial designs and Taguchi methods
- Familiar with statistical modeling packages, charting tools and reporting solutions; advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience working with large databases and data sets
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial startup environment
