Boston Startup: Internet Software Engineer at DigitalAdvisor (Cambridge, MA 02138)

We’re a well funded startup whose founders and investors have a record of multiple successes. We’re pretty sure this will be another winner. We have a great idea for a public facing web site and service that will be challenging to build, and provide real value to users.

The key to success is the group of people we have. We must be small with only very, very talented people who understand and are working towards a common vision. If you want to work quickly and with freedom, this is the way to do it.

Each engineer must be able to do "everything"; we’re looking for broad software development skills, both on the server side and on the web development side. You need to be highly proficient in many areas of software development: a generalist, not a specialist. You will design, write, collaborate, test, deliver, manage, deploy, measure and refine all aspects of the system. When everybody knows how to do everything, we communicate easily and accurately, avoid unnecessary handoffs and blunders, and get things done fast and well.

We use Open Source web tools and technologies on Linux: PostgreSQL, Rails, Java, Apache, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX and so on. Internal tools include SVN, Trac, Capistrano, others. You must be able to learn anything, fast, starting with a strong, broad foundation of software and web development skills.

If you can demonstrate your mastery of skills, and want to work in a startup environment, and you’re a good fit for our existing group, you might be right for us. We offer equity, a fair salary, and benefits. The position is full time, open immediately and on-site in our Harvard Square office.

We are very selective. Are you the right person to complete our core engineering team?

You must be legally allowed to work in the US. No recruiters please.
