RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support existing and develop new web-based projects for Blurb.com using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • Work with Product Management and User Experience experts to design a world class web-based user experience for our active author community.
  • Work with the Blurb web engineering team to develop and support the Ruby on Rails code base that powers Blurb.com.
  • Work closely with business and marketing stakeholders to develop and support various pieces of online collateral.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Experience developing browser neutral code (IE6/7, Firefox 3, and Safari 3) and debugging any resulting problems.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS.
  • Some knowledge of Javascript.
  • Good working knowledge of test-driven development and agile processes.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced team-based environment.

Experience in any of the following would be a bonus:

  • Strong AJAX/Javascript programming experience in a multi-browser, multi-platform environment.
  • Ruby on Rails experience.
  • User Interface/Interaction Design experience.
  • Experience in source code management, release management, and deployment procedures in a multi-tier application architecture.
