Big Think is a new interactive media web start-up that launched in beta form last month. We’re looking for a talented developer to work on a freelance basis on several exciting new web projects.
The ideal candidate is looking to help build a cutting edge interactive experience online and is also deeply committed to the exchange of ideas and bringing ideas to life. We are happy to work around existing commitments and to accept candidates from any location, so long as they can communicate fluently in spoken English. Strong front-end development experience is strongly desired.
Requirements:
- 2+ Years of Ruby Development experience
- Expert in SQL (MySQL preferred)
- Extensive experience with Javascript and D/HTML/CSS
Desired Skills:
• Front-end RUBY experience*, PHP, CSS, XML, XHTML, Javascript (Ajax), FLASH,
• Familiarity with DOM Scripting
• Expert experience with Web Service API integration
• Strong advocate of clean, semantic markup
• Proven history of working with User Experience designer to implement product design directions
• Object-oriented development
